H+Soft Arcade has been updated -
Version 1.10
is out now. This is a minor update, so you
can update
H+Soft Arcade only, but if you're
still playing a version less than 1.8, you must
update everything ASAP, including the games you have
installed. If you do not, the existing games and
future new game releases will not run correctly.
Now, let's explain this update. This new version
still incorporates two run-time graphics
drivers. The arcade and game timing settings
have been reduced from four to two. Primarily,
you want to use the 'V-sync @ 60 HRZ' setting if
you have an ATI or NVIDIA graphics card, as
these cards support V-sync timing in most cases.
If you have an Intel graphics card, a cheap
computer, or an older computer in some cases,
use the 'Lock In @ 60 FPS' setting. This setting
still incorporates V-sync, but can also lock in
at 60 frames per second if the V-synced graphics
timing cannot be invoked. The best thing to do
is experiment with the two settings to see which
gives the smoothest performance. The 'V-sync @
60 HRZ' setting is now the default at time of
install. So, if the Arcade or Games run
extremely fast or choppy, use the 'Lock In @ 60
FPS' setting. Also, make sure you restart H+Soft
Arcade (close then re-open) for the change to
actually take effect. Don't run a game after
changing the setting before restarting, or
you'll encounter some weird results. You can
access the timing settings in H+Soft Arcade by
clicking Menu >> 'Performance/Display'
Settings'. If neither
of the two settings seem to make a noticeable
difference, your computer, sorry to say, is just
not compatible with the software. This is the
last update I'm going to do on this. I just
wanted to do some tests, get all the updates
done now so the software will run as smooth as
possible before continuing with the new stuff
that I've got in development - and there's some
real cool stuff coming soon I might add! Read
pervious news posts for info on new games. Also,
I have added eight new downloadable back drop images for H+Soft
Arcade in the
Photo Gallery -
Enjoy!

Hagatha's Halloween Havoc
has been updated to V1.4. Sorry to say, this game
remains in 800x600 graphics. I guess it will be
the only 'odd ball' in the H+Soft Arcade game
library. The game now only runs in Full Screen
mode regardless of the setting H+Soft Arcade is
set to. This will correct any display issues for
this game. Anyways, it's time to move on! A new
H+Soft Arcade update may be in the works, I'm
not quite sure yet. It's been updated quite a
bit lately, but the more polish and performance
compatibility I can get on it, the better it
will be for more computers and users of the
software. If this update goes through the
software will still use two run time graphics
drivers with V-sync enabled, as this is the
smoothest and most consistent performance
setting. Sorry to say however, the software may
not run the the lower-end or 'crappy' systems as
I call them. Back to work for me! I've got some
fascinating new games and maybe even a whole new
surprise software in development down the
road. Read previous news posts to find out more
about the new H+Soft Arcade games currently in
development. Also, I'm gathering more photos for
the
H+Soft Arcade Back Drop
Gallery, so come back soon to check
them out and get some great new back drops!
