News Archives (Mar 30-July4, 2011)

July 4, 2011: Happy 4th of July! Well, that's if you live in the USA. Dual Stick Games Vol. 1: RC VersaHeli has been re-compiled and updated - Get Version 1.1 If you added this to H+Soft Arcade on July 3, 2011 (yesterday). I guess I rushed it out a little to quickly as it had some run-time glitches. The missing landing pads (would happen rarely) issue has been patched along with some other miscellaneous fixes and improvements. Sorry for the inconvenience.

July 3, 2011: A new 2 player VS mini game series for H+Soft Arcade - Dual Stick Games Vol. 1: RC VersaHeli

This is new mini game that features two player VS. game play supporting two game pad controllers with dual analog sticks! That's right, use your left/right analog sticks like an RC transmitter to control your RC helicopter against your opponent. You must try to activate all your landing pads while avoiding walls, pits and getting shot down by your opponent. Now to start work on the second game in this series - RC Tanks with individual tank and turret controls! Also, My Old Stuff Vol. 2: Dimension Man 2010 has been updated. The update patches the missing remote piece bug that seemed to occur every now and then rendering a level impossible to clear - should be much more enjoyable now!

June 10, 2011: It's been awhile, but here's a new game for H+Soft Arcade! My Old Stuff Vol. 2: Dimension Man 2010.

Finally, I have a game series for the arcade with more than one game! I'm working on creating more games for the other series I have started. Any hoot, let's move on to this new one shall we? This is from my Old Stuff series where I re-make my old games from about 20 years ago. Dimension Man 2010 was started last year (2010 - Which I forgot about) and hence that's why I didn't make the name Dimension Man 2011. This game goes back to the Commodore 64 - anyone remember that machine? Any how, the original was written in C-64 Basic rewriting the ASCII character set with custom 8x8 graphics. The second was done later in Quick Basic for MS DOS - Which was a basic programming language interpreter. Well, now it's re-done in a more modern sense for H+Soft Arcade while still retaining it's original game play.

March 30, 2011: Here's a couple game updates! First is Hologram Games Vol. 1: BlastaPede 2D\3D. There was a small bug in the 2-player Vs mode. When one of the players died, the 'dead' player could still shoot - this bug has been patched. But, that's not all, in 2-player mode if one player dies, they can steal lives from the other player (if the other player has 2 or more lives) by pressing button 2 on their game pad controller! Next is, The Goblin. I have been planning another game series for the arcade called the 'My Old Stuff' game series. Which I have decided to include this game in the series - There is also another game on the way in this series. The series is based on very old games I had made in C-64 Basic with a modified 8x8 character set or Dos Quick Basic several years ago. Anyhow, the game is now called My Old Stuff Vol. 1: The Goblin. No run-time changes have been made to the game - Just the name is changed.
