July 28, 2009:
I
have finally got the new website done! It took
awhile to get everything in place and looking
right. I have decided to stick with my old theme
with the darker colors. A retro site with dark
screen shots and bright backgrounds is just not
that appealing! Anyways, I will now be focusing
on my current game projects. The two primary
focuses will be the
VersaBot
and
Moon Raid 3D
game projects. Watch for some new informative
posts on these projects as they further unfold.
For more info on these game projects look at the

July 3, 2009:
Here's the latest
news. I have done another website update. I had
been toying with the notion of creating a
separate development team In my last post (June
27, 2009)
in which we were working on a
new individual game. Well, we've decided not
form a new company so to speak. Now, this team still exists, but
we will be
distributing this new game under H+Soft instead.
Now as for the web update I removed the 'Frozen
Brain Game' page and links from the top and
bottom nav bars and every thing associated with
it. I added the 'Other Games' link to the nav
bar. This is a game download archive not
associated with H+Soft Arcade. Basically, It may
be individual games by H+Soft, or other
developers if they should choose to list a game
in the archive. If you are a developer and would
like to list a game
Get Info Here.
Now, let's talk about some
game projects I've got going on. The first is
VersaBot
which will be one or two player turn based robot
logic game. Pictured on the left is a
screenshot
of the project. We are well into development on
the project, I will be using the H+Soft Arcade
game frame work/engine to write the game. But,
Have not yet decided to release it for H+Soft
Arcade or as an individual game download. Now
for a brief description. In this game, players
must choose from a list of commands to program
their robots ROM chips (no more than 6 moves per
turn) and run them. In a two player game you
must reach or take over the other players charge
pad before running out of power. Players will
have to try to anticipate what the other players
move will be, thus say shooting them or by
basically messing up the other robots program
sending it into force fields, traps and pits
etc. In a one player game, you must choose from
fixed ROMs (more of a puzzle format) with no
more than 10 moves per round. I will go into
more detail abot this project later. Now I want
to move onto a couple H+Soft Arcade projects in
development. One is
Moon Raid 3D
a new retro mini shooter (pictured at the
right).
Ugly
grey aliens are skimming across the moon and heading
towards earth! (yes another earth invasion
game!) You must pilot your little fighter ship
taking out as many aliens as you can for so many
rounds of play. Your ultimate goal will be to get
(shoot)
all of them. Any aliens remaining (escaped) at
the end of the set rounds of play must be chased
down and you must try to destroy them again! If
you fail the second time - they'll reach earth!
The game will then be over and you will be given
the end game stats and human kinds chances for
survival! A 2D or a Classic/Retro version as I
call it will be made as well.
The
second H+Soft Arcade project is
Huck's Rocket Boot Hero: Platforms of Death 3D
pictured here on the left. Which you may
remember if you've been to my old website -
formerly on the now removed 'Coming Soon' page.
Anyways, based on my original game
Huck's Rocket
Boot Hero.
You must guide our hero 'Huck' with his homemade
rocket boots on an all new quest - in 3D! This
time you must guide Huck down into a volcanic
void to save his passed out (drunk) old lady
once again. A bit different from the original,
the game will have about 30 fixed levels (no
scrolling) where you must collect 40 oz beer
bombs to blow out molten rock walls and blast as
many cavern critters as possible for extra
points with Huck's cheesy laser sun glasses! You
must also collect one-ups to gain continue
credits. If Huck dies and you have no credits
the game will be over. This game will also most
likely have end game stats as well. Telling you
how many critters you blasted out of total
discovered. How many walls you blew up, 40 bombs
you collected and so on. This game will most
likely be in a 3D format only with no 2D builds
or releases.
