Welcome to
the new HsRetroGames.com and of course,
this news page! I have decided
to add this news page so the curious users can
read more in-depth details on current projects,
secret side projects, updates and maybe even
some random babble from time to time! Let me
start by talking about this website. If you've
been
a regular visitor to HsRetroGames.com, you will
see there has been a major update and layout
change to the site. So take a look around and
you will find the site is now a bit more
informative, brighter, much easier to
read, navigate, and standardized (not
so 'weird'). Hopefully you will like this new
site. There is also more room for advertising
and will be easy for users to view and more room
(ad slots) for advertisers. Also the 'Coming
Soon' or current project page has been removed
and replaced by the new 'Frozen Brain Games'
home page. Not to worry though, I will still
post news and current development progress for
current game projects and/or updates for H+Soft
Arcade in this news section. What is Frozen
Brain Games? Frozen Brain Games is a newly
formed Indie development team specializing in
casual and/or logic games for those who like the
simpler side in PC gaming. Who are we? Well,
It's me as well as an old friend of mine from
high school - Who always seems to come up with
very interesting game ideas! We are currently
teaming up and working on a new casual logic
game, which I'm not going to go into details
about at this time. I will post more info and a
screen shot as the project gets more into
development. Now
 moving
on to some other changes ...
H+Soft Arcade
has been updated. Version v1.7 is out now. Some
minor run time optimizations have been made for
performance. Plus, you can now reset top scores
by right clicking on 'Play' or the screen shot
of the current game. Rather than deleting and
then re-installing a game to reset a top score.
A new feature has also been added, H+Soft Arcade
now allows players to enter their initials when
getting a top score on a game, of which H+Soft
Arcade indefinitely saves until the user resets
it. Please Note: If you already have top score
for a game in H+Soft Arcade you will need to
either reset the current top score or beat it in
order to enter your initials! Also, with the new
download/update of H+Soft Arcade games launch in
windowed mode by default. If you would rather
play the games in full screen, go to 'Menu' then
'Performance/Display Settings' to change the
game display from the H+Soft Arcade game
selection screen. Remember this setting effects
game graphics only! H+Soft Arcade always runs
windowed. These following games have under gone
some minor updates and should be updated:
Burgeroids,
Pirate Pop!,
CrossFire '07 'Desert
Raid' and
Hagatha's Halloween Havoc.
These games have been re-compiled with improved
window centering when launched in 'Windowed
Mode'. Here's another useful tip, If your
computer display settings are set less than a
game graphics display (example: if your display
is in 800x600 and the game runs in 1024x768)
don't launch it in windowed mode! The game might
not run or you won't be able to see the entire
screen! If you are a registered user I highly
recommend that you update your version of H+Soft
Arcade to this new version (v1.7). You will not
need to update all of the games you have, unless
they are one of the games mentioned above.
