2009:
H+Soft Arcade Updated. Version 1.13
is
out now. Once again, I'll try to keep this
brief. Not to long ago I released a VS. game
requiring the use of two game pads/joysticks. I
didn't update the arcade for games such as this!
So here it is, This new arcade version adds
testing and calibration support for two game
pads or joysticks. I consider this a major
update because you will need to update to this
version for future 2 player VS. games for H+Soft
Arcade. I would like to specify most people use
plug and play devices and won't need to ever
actually use the calibration settings H+Soft
Arcade offers, and can use the default settings.
But, for those who have special controllers or
devices installed for them can manually test and
calibrate
(set) the switch values. The new VS game,
Retro Invaderz VS. Battle
has been updated with these changes to the
H+Soft Arcade Game Engine, so make sure you
update it too. Well, that's if you actually play
it and have two game pads or joysticks! There
are more updates, game updates I should tell you
about. First,
Hagatha's Halloween Havoc
has been updated. It now supports Windowed mode
again. Don't run this game Windowed if your
display is less than 1024x768 or you won't be
able to see the whole screen/window! It also now
has the cheat keys re-enabled in the demo. Also,
I mentioned in a previous post, I would be
updating some of the older games with a newer
sound format, reducing them in size and over-all
size of H+Soft Arcade with them installed. Plus
some of them had additional updates as well.
Here are the games with sound updates only:
Burgeroids,
CrossFire,
Attack of the Techno
Mutant Space Bees, and
Attack of the Techno
Mutant Space Bees - 3D Edition. Now
for the games that had sound and other updates:
Huck's Rocket Boot Hero has these
updates. Sound updates, game pad calibration has
been removed - now uses the H+Soft Arcade
settings only. Continues are now available in
the demo version.
Jack-o's Revenge
updates: Sound updates, game pad calibration
removed - uses arcade settings, and you can now
play two player games in the demo version. So
you know, when I'm referring to the demo
versions, this means the H+Soft Arcade demo
restrictions for these games have been removed.
H+Soft Arcade demo already has a trial time - so
those additional restrictions just aren't
necessary! Also, I want to add, if you update
any of the games above (with sound updates) make
sure you delete the old versions of them off of
H+Soft Arcade first. The installer won't remove
the old sound files. The easiest way to deal
with updates is to use the FULL install from the
H+Soft Arcade Downloader.
I think this should be it! Hopefully, I won't
have to update the arcade again for quite
sometime! I have some exciting new games for the
arcade coming soon so check back soon!
December 5,
2009:
Wow, another year is almost gone! I'll try to
keep this post short and sweet. I mentioned a
possibility of a new Rocket Boot Santa (Post
Nov 22, 2009) game to be released before X-mas.
Well, looking at the date it's not going to
happen! Technically if one was to do a holiday
themed game, I think it should be released
with-in the first two weeks of December, giving
people ample time to enjoy such a game. This
game I had planned just wouldn't make it time to
be worth busting my buns over. Besides, I have
three projects on the back burner since spring
and summer for H+Soft Arcade that need to get
finished! They are VersaBot, Moon Raid 3D, and
Huck's Rocket Boot Hero POD 3D. You can learn
more in the
July 3, 2009
news post. I want to wrap these projects up by
the first couple months of the new year. I have
a new software in mind for 2010 that a lot of
people might enjoy! Not to mention, there's
always exciting stuff in development for H+Soft
Arcade! Back to X-mas games, the Blitz website
is having a framework compo, maybe I could whip
up a little something for that? We'll see.
